The ROI of Resiliency in Buildings



Resilience in buildings has two main benefits; mitigating risk and maintaining value. The Urban Land Institute has a developed a report (seen here) describing how some developers have addressed financial uncertainty by designing their builds to stay open with rising sea levels, extreme heat, power outages and natural disasters. Mitigating value erosion has a new set of tools through sustainability and green design and each new building should consider long term value.
